How It Began.....
Frabjous Catfé was inspired by a weekend trip to Charleston, SC, where Dawn and her husband discovered their first cat café. What began as a fun stop quickly became the spark for a dream. A lifelong animal lover, Dawn envisioned a space where people could relax, connect, and help save cats at the same time. After moving to North Carolina and partnering with a local rescue, Frabjous Catfé was born—blending coffee, cats, and whimsical charm into a community-centered space that helped countless cats find loving homes.
As we faced new challenges with Frabjous Catfé, the support from our community inspired the next chapter: Whisker Junction.
Built on everything we learned, our 501(c)(3) nonprofit expands our vision to do more—for cats and the community. Whisker Junction connects people and adoptable cats in a safe, welcoming space, promoting adoptions, supporting community wellness, and fostering meaningful connections.
While cats remain at the heart of our mission, Whisker Junction will also serve as a vibrant community hub—supporting rescue efforts, offering spaces for connection, and creating joyful, healing experiences where people and animals thrive together. We’ve been working diligently behind the scenes to bring this vision to life.

We’re settling into Keith’s Store and getting to know the incredible community that supports this rustic hidden gem. As we look ahead to 2026, plans are underway to refresh the back building and transform it into a calm, welcoming space—perfect for relaxing with cats or meeting a new best friend to bring home.
Your support through donations, attending our events, and enjoying the expanded offerings at Keith’s Store helps us continue uplifting local partners while working toward reducing euthanasia rates and increasing cat adoptions.
